Abstract :
This paper investigates a new sliding mode observer for the speed sensorless control of an induction motor. The proposed sensorless control algorithm is the sliding mode observer with two sliding mode feedback signals. One is a stator current error between the measured and estimated currents, and the other is a rotor flux error between a sliding mode observer model and a rotor current model. The proposed sensorless control algorithm has a better performance compared to the conventional sliding mode observer.
