Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a method for generation of panoramic image suitable for a building wall surface using the side-view in-vehicle camera. In the proposed method, alignments and geometric normalizations are performed on the basis of planar features of the images. This allows no need for rigorous calibration for camera setting, such as camera postures and positions. Therefore, the proposed method is comparatively tolerant of image distortions which arise from the movement of a car. Experimental results show that the proposed method provides promising panoramic image.
