Abstract
In this paper, we propose a dynamic estimator for the mass flow rate of the internal combustion engines based on the engine angular speed and the spark advance measurements. The estimator is designed based on the nonmodel-based velocity estimator and allows us to eliminate the requirements for installing intake manifold sensors that measure the manifold pressure and mass flow rate into manifold.
