Abstract
Cobalt-carbon eutectic-point (Co-C) was realized with a small simple single zone furnace in order to ensure if it is possible or not. The furnace is originally manufactured for palladium fixed point by wire bridge method. The temperature distribution of the furnace is not always good enough to realize the fixed point because it is not designed for crucible method. However the Co-C eutectic-point was realized with plusmn0.03degC (2sigma) repeatability at melting plateau. Freezing point is also realized with a little large gradient during the plateau. As far as the present study, it is possible to realize the Co-C eutectic-point by using a small simple single zone furnace designed for Pd wire bridge method.
