Abstract :
Temperature control of a hot strip has been important in run-out table of hot strip mill in order to stabilize and improve the material properties of its products. We developed a new temperature measurement method for hot strip cooled by a lot of water in the cooling banks. And we developed control system using the new measurement method and confirmed that the system could control hot strip temperature accurately. We explain the principle of the new measurement method and its online test result in this paper.
