Abstract
A new type of tire building drum based on parallel mechanism was presented and the mechanism analysis of the structural was carried out. Its direct and inverse displacement equations were developed explicitly considering its architecture feature. Solid model of the mechanism was set up and the kinematics simulation was conducted using software code of UG and ADAMS, which provided theoretical base for optimal design application of the manipulator.
