Abstract :
A new mobile next generation network (mobile-NGN) architecture based on the REST (representational state transfer) concept is proposed. In this architecture, mobile communication services are established by combining distributed network resources such as access networks and consumer information management servers derived from REST technology the same as for Web services. This architecture is designed to address three issues: it will allow mobile terminals to use Web communication services, including telephone service, via just a Web browser and plug-in programs; it will be flatter for business players in this market; and it will use the same address for different communication services. As a result, this new architecture will make it easy for newcomers to enter the wireless communication market, which will accelerate competition among players, leading to the development of innovative new applications.
