Abstract :
A novel photonic integrated tunable filter on the hybrid silicon platform is proposed and demonstrated. The filter incorporates a ring resonator placed in one arm of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer making it possible to obtain programmable filter transfer function. The microwave and optical frequency responses were also characterized.
