Abstract :
As wireless sensor networks are ubiquitous in nature, localization is an important factor to be solved. Localization of an unknown node can be identified through a set of reference nodes. In this paper, we present a novel hybrid localization technique, which determines the exact location coordinates of an unknown node through the combination of both range free and range based methods. The location coordinates of an unknown node had been identified precisely by incorporating Euclidian distance approach and some simulations had been done over that for accuracy proof. And finally, the algorithm is compared with the existing localization schemes which use RSS [Received Signal Strength] measurements taken at multiple reference nodes. We introduced a hop count mechanism which is range free followed by Ecolocation technique which is range based and compare the location estimation in terms of RSS measurements. Here, we employ Locate, a hybrid Localization algorithm through systematic simulation and proved that our algorithm is more efficient than existing localization algorithms in terms of accuracy and precision.
