Abstract
Cluster analysis is an important branch and effective tool for data mining. And cluster analysis has long played an important role in a wide variety of fields. The traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnosis has been a challenging research problem. This paper introduces an original study between cluster analysis and the symptoms and signs of in patients with UA. We report a cluster analysis to evade this problem. The Enterprise Miner of SAS6.12 version of the software is used. 815 patients with UA were selected and their information about symptoms and signs (about TCM diagnoses) were recorded. There are six main syndromes for UA. The TCM diagnosis of UA was initially set by cluster analysis. And it is basically consistent with clinical practice. Cluster analysis is a powerful tool for exploratory research on the syndrome classification and diagnosis for TCM.
