Abstract :
Reliability is an important index to evaluate product quality, and reliability degree is most commonly investigated among various reliability characteristic values. When generalized stress and generalized strength are fuzzy variables, this paper proposes a method for solution based on two algorithms, i.e. the computation of fuzzy reliability using fuzzy number subtraction and fuzzy failure degrees. The advantages of the method lie in its uncomplicated and clear principle as well as low computational complexity. Since one real number can be considered as a trigonometric fuzzy number with its left and right distributed parameters equivalent to zero, the method is applicable to the case of combination of fuzzy variables and constant variables.
