Abstract :
Considering existing four expressive styles of part information, the notion of ontology and its technologies are introduced to domain ontology repository of computer aided process planning (CAPP) application system, in order that represents explicitly part information and relations between part features in the repository, and ontology-based description model of part information and three-layer framework of the model is presented, in which description pattern of part features and its structure is proposed. A typical example of part JieTiZhou indicates finally part information of the ontology repository can be expressed definitely by the ontology-based description model, and all kinds of relations among part features can be denoted effectively.
