Abstract :
Aiming insufficiency of effective method to depict the coupling balance state of urban traffic systems now, this paper concerns the coupling balance issue of urban traffic supply and demand. The paper presents traffic supply and demand coupling balance index to measure the coupling balance state of traffic systems. The calculative methods of these index are proposed. A simple case is taken for its effectiveness. This kind method may be useful for revealing the underlying reasons of supply and demand imbalance. Furthermore, it also provides a new kink of view port and valuable references for improving urban traffic management efficiency.
