Abstract :
Multicast application is one of key value-add field to cellular mobile network. Cooperative relay multicast network can be applied inside the cell of cellular system to improve performance of multicast sessions by adding relay nodes. This paper focuses on the optimization to relay nodes tree based on ant colony optimization (ACO). Besides cost and delay, power control is important to wireless relay nodes too. Power controlling belongs to physical layer and network routing belongs to network layer. This paper constructs a cross-layer ant colony algorithm to optimize cooperative relay nodes tree. First of this paper, we illustrate our research works on cooperative relay network. And then, we give optimizing goal function and analyze the approach of calculation for power control. Next, we proposal nodes coding technology to fit the characteristic of the relay nodes tree. Based on all above, we construct a power control cross-layer ant colony optimizing algorithm. Our main contribution is that we apply the ACO algorithm into joint optimization problem, that is multicast routing problem at the network layer and a power control problem at the physical layer. Besides this, we proposal nodes coding technology to conduct ant move from center to edge and this technology can make quick convergence. Simulation results show that the algorithm can obtain prominent improvement to relay nodes tree and obtain expected goal.
