Abstract :
This paper is researching on how to guide people to develop low-carbon trip habits to achieve traffic mitigation in the field of energy conservation through urban design. Global warming caused by carbon emissions makes human survival and health be threatened, and low-carbon urban design is imperative. Carbon emissions in the area of Traffic growth year-on-year, and it is difficult to control because it refers to hundreds of millions of people´s travel choices, resulting in no low-carbon sense of human behavior and way of life. This paper takes trip habits as the breakthrough point, from the three levels of changing means of transportation (CMT mode), shortening distance of trip (SDT mode) and reducing the number of long-distance trip (RLT mode), to make use of urban design to carry out the space environment shape so as to effectively guide the behavior of people with a view to achieve the positive change of city´s trip habits from convenience-oriented to low-carbon-oriented. It is important to realize the energy conservation and carbon emission reduction in the field of transportation.
