  • Abstract
    Graphic and semi-graphic methods as traditional methods are often used to calculate hydraulic problems of different cross sections of different types of spiral cases. These methods are not available for project designer to use as well as university courses teaching. The main reasons are that graphic and semi-graphic methods are too complicated and can not be easily grasped. In this paper, some new and simple mathematical solution methods are deduced according to different spiral case types and water flow conditions so as to help graduates and engineers grasp and use. Furthermore, it is convenient for new calculating methods to be written as computer programs.
