  • Abstract
Along with the enhancement of voltage level, contradiction between limit of over-voltage and reactive adjusting becomes more and more obvious which can be solved by adopting controllable shunt reactor, and the harmful affect of secondary arc current to the system becomes more and more serious. Considering suppression of secondary arc current, this paper studies controllable shunt reactor with neutral small reactor. In allusion to the variation of compensation degree, the secondary arc current under different neutral small reactor is analyzed in detail. Results of PSCAD simulation and calculation show that neutral small reactor of controllable shunt reactor should be controllable, moreover, when the neutral small reactor is close to the optimal value, the secondary arc current becomes smaller.
