Abstract
Automobile aerodynamic problems are closely associated with the flows occurring around car. The paper investigates numerically the flow around a car body with different angles of wind velocity to car axis in range of 0~30°. The scale of automobile is 4350 m à 1680 m à 1480 m in length à width à height. The coefficient of flow resistance is defined. Analyzing the result, it can be concluded as follows: The wind angles affect the flow around the automobile strongly. The coefficient of flow resistance increases with increasing wind angles. The wall shear stress on the car increases with increasing the wind angles. The result can provide us with a useful reference for design of the automobiles and for safe running in windy days or windy areas.
