Abstract :
In this paper, the problem of coherent integrative detection of high velocity moving space objects by a space-based noise frequency modulated (FM) pulse radar is investigated. It is pointed out that space objects may migrate through several radar range resolution cells in quite a short time due to their high velocity. An approach to improve the range main-to-sidelobe ratio by correcting the range migration utilizing ldquomatched reference signalsrdquo in noise FM pulse radar is presented. The FFT-IFFT technique combined with ldquoCleanrdquo method is used to enlarge the dynamic range. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of this new method.
