Abstract
Doppler Beam Sharpening (DBS) is a technique which can improve the resolution of radar azimuth. The FFT processing with a constant PRF is more suitable for the mechanic scanning radar having unchanged scanning speed and PRF. The pre-filtering and the frequency-domain interpolation available can be used to keep the sharpening ratio constant. Based on analyzing and comparing the two methods, the frequency-domain interpolation with the drawback of too much energy losing in interpolating is improved with the thought of rounding to the nearest integer. Finally, the validity of the improved method is proved by the evident results from processing the raw DBS data.
