Abstract
Several key parameters in sliding spotlight SAR are analyzed in this paper. First, the basic imaging geometry is described and resolution is analyzed. The differences between ´azimuth´ and ´along track´ resolution are discussed. Accurate formulas to evaluate these two kinds of resolution are presented. Then, the valid size of imaging area is analyzed. Finally, ambiguity is mainly studied. The differences among strip-map, spotlight and sliding spotlight are discussed. Analyses show that these parameters in sliding spotlight mode are space-variant. However, simulation results indicate that the variation may be neglected under the simulation parameters.
