Abstract
This study develops an integrative framework of IT, structure and performance to find the impact of IT on organization structure and performance. It helps to explain the contradictions in the existing literature. The empirical results show that IT does matter in Chinese environment. IT can help the firms to get more formalization, then better performance. Besides, IT has direct impact on organization performance because of early-development advantage.
