Abstract :
The paper will describe the challenges and implementation of self healing distribution automation scheme implemented by Scottish and Southern energy on the Isle of Wight in 2008. This involved the supply of equipment by S&C Electric Europe Ltd covering several 11 KV feeder and substations. It will describe the equipment used that when combined offered a self healing real time solution to distribution networks and how this improves network reliability.
