Abstract :
This paper presents our experiences of using thermal network analysis in the design and development of medium voltage switchgears. A thermal network model is created for a four-panel temperature rise test. The simulation result is compared to the measurement. Taking a GIS with a rated current of 2500 A, a single phase simulation is done within a few seconds with a deviation as low as 2 Kelvin.
