Abstract :
This paper proposes the use of an existing Voltage Source Converter (VSC) HVDC back-to-back tie for enhancing the damping in the power system through a supplementary Controller. In this context, investigations have been conducted on a large generator unit connected to a HVAC/DC system. The results of these investigations are presented in the form of typical time responses.
