Abstract :
A novel evanescent wave excited PbSe quantum dots fiber amplifier was proposed and studied. The PbSe quantum dots doped film was as the gain material which was dip-coated on to a fusion tapered fiber coupler. With 980nm wavelength LD as pump, optical amplification was observed at 1550nm wavelength.
