Abstract :
We demonstrate a soliton self-frequency shift of ∼140 nm and spectral compression in highly nonlinear fibers with 260-fs pulses at 1558 nm. The wavelengths of the resulting solitons can be tuned effectively by adjusting the input power. The spectral width of the solitons is compressed from 9.2 nm to 2.6 nm.
