Abstract
We studied the feasibility of application of consecutive hydrostatic pressure changes to assess accuracy of measurement of finger blood pressure changes in 11 normal volunteers. The results demonstrated that specific physiological responses to hand postural changes were small in healthy subjects and the consecutive hydrostatic pressure changes of controlled magnitude can be applied to assess accuracy of finger blood pressure measurement. As a calibration checking tool the proposed method may be helpful for cardiovascular diagnostics.
