Abstract :
In this paper, we proposed the design and implementation of the laser diode driver (LDD) circuitry with large driving current capability and high speed. The novel LDD circuitry with SFM (source follower mode) architecture has been developed and carefully simulated. Besides, we also compared CSM (combination switch mode) architecture with the proposed SFM architecture. It can be shown that the novel SFM LDD posses faster speed performance than that of CSM architecture. The novel LDD is designed and implemented in 0.35-¿m 5 V CMOS process.
