Abstract :
This talk focuses on the actual field implementation results of 40G in a video network scenario. OSNR, DCM /PMD requirements are described in the actual overlay environment of current 10G infrastructure. Results are extended to 100G where coherent detection in single carrier and OFDM approaches are compared and summarized. Standards requirement of 40G to achieve datacom compatibility with 10GE is also described. We conclude with the necessary ingredients of the ecosystem required for a realizable migration from 40G to 100G.
