Abstract
In this paper a novel scheme of optical generation of mm-wave signal have been proposed. This scheme uses successive modulation of a light wave in two Mach-Zehnder light intensity modulators. The Mach-Zehnder light intensity modulators are quadrature biased and their dc bias differ by a half-wave voltage of the modulator. The optical carrier is suppressed by a notch filter and two optical sidebands are mixed in a photodiode to generate 60 GHz mm-wave signal.
