Abstract :
Given the complicated environment in virtual endoscopic system, the hybrid bounding box method has been put forward with the merits of axis-aligned bounding box (AABB) and oriented bounding box (OBB) in mind to guarantee the accuracy and of collision detection in that environment. In this paper, the hybrid bounding box method is applied in the experiments of virtual colonoscopy. This paper aims to prove that method can improve the validity and real-time of collision detection and be applied to the detection of collision between solid and deformable objects.
