Abstract :
The research of automotive chassis gap detection is a crucial field for automobile controlling stability and safety. For achieving the effective and precise detection model of the chassis gap detection system, the models corresponding to balance and deforming status with lateral force coursed by bedplate under the wheel are indicated. In the simulation results, the dynamic radial reaction of the wheel hub outer bearing F1 gradually decreased with the increase of lateral force imposed by the bedplate to the edge of the wheel, while the dynamic radial reaction of the wheel hub inside bearing F2 is gradually increased. The inner bearing accepts all load when F2 increases to nN/R, that is F1=0, F2=N. After that, with the increase of bedplate displacement ¿L, the lateral force maintains a constant value, and the level line segment L1L2 which is the theoretical gap area appears in the simulation curve. Simulation results shows that its effect and reliability meet the requirements of the detecting system for vehicle chassis gap detection.
