Abstract :
This paper presents a state-space technique for transient analysis of an HV transmission line with corona under the influence of AC and impulse voltage. The transmission line is treated as a series connection of short line sections and the effect of corona is represented in each section by a nonlinear capacitance-conductance branch. Based on the solution technique a computer program in m-file environment in MATLAB is developed. In comparison with corona model in EMTP, the obtained results have acceptable accuracy.
