Abstract :
Monitoring of dredging works was performed using remote sensing together with in situ measurements of inherent optical properties (IOP). The IOPs measured with Wetlabs AC-spectra were used to characterize the type of particles in the water column. Measured scattering coefficients spectra were described with the exponential function. The obtained slope factors with the regression coefficient R were used for determining the composition of suspended particles in the water column. Remote sensing imagery from MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer) with spatial resolution of 250 m gave good general overview of turbidity on the surface water.
