Abstract :
A complete opto-electronical simulation of a metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) photodetector is presented. We combined rigorous electromagnetic theory for modelling the light propagation with electronic device simulation methods. Different optical designs were compared with respect to efficiency and response times.
