Abstract :
The beam direction of a frequency diverse array (FDA) is range dependent. If the beam is desired to steer toward a target with fixed range and angle parameters, the frequency offset must be properly selected. In this paper, the radiation properties of FDAs are analyzed. The range dependent beam can also be frequency offset dependent if the parameter range is fixed. A frequency offset selection strategy is derived to precisely steer the beam toward a fixed range with a desired angle.
