Abstract
An identity based authentication method is proposed on the basis of analysis and discussion of various person authentication methods. The proposed authentication system adopts symmetric encryption algorithm, combined secret key and smart card technology to realize international person authentication over network. The native and overseas network users are classified and authenticated separately. The one-to-one national authority centre for different Websites takes charge of person authentication for native network users, and tens of international authority centers (10~30) are in charge of person authentication for other network users. It solves the problems of large scale users´ management, key update and authentication parameters exchange. Consequently, the international person authentication over network can be realized.
