Abstract :
Aiming at creating a rewarding and feasible English teaching and learning pattern, this paper proposes an effective web-based new teaching mode by means of ¿The Web-based Electronic English Lesson Plan Design¿, which promotes classroom interaction so as to maximize opportunities for students to put English to genuine use and to create a student-centered learning environment. An English-learning website is established to serve as a platform for teacher-student and student-student communication inside and outside classroom, which effectively extends the regular class and optimizes classroom interaction. Via this website, both the teacher and students co-design their lesson plans before class, enrich and revise them in and after class for subsequent reference. With its positive characteristics, such a web-based teaching mode will demonstrate the teacher´s guiding instruction and student-centered autonomous learning. The students´ needs can be satisfied and their linguistic competence and communicative skills can be enhanced through participation, communication, application and evaluation.
