Markov chain is a statistical analysis method which is based on probability theory and uses random mathematical models to analyze the quantitative relationship in the course of development and changes of objects. This paper explores the application of Markov chain analysis method in the assessment of the teaching effectiveness of physical education, based on the features and requirements of teaching activities in physical education,. As a method to quantify the teaching achievement indicators in physical education, limit distribution in Markov process solves the problems which arise in the evaluation of the teaching quality by using students´ score due to students at different physical levels. This provides a good method for scientific teaching evaluation in physical education.
