Abstract :
The paper adopted the explicit dynamics software ANSYS/LS-DYNA to carry out the numerical simulation calculation for straightening process of 60 kg/m heavy rail with original curvature on the compound roller straightener, and found out the stress variety rule of the 13 distortion sections during the straightening process, it studied the residual stress and distributive condition of straightened rail section and rail bottom through horizontal and vertical straightening, and analysed the effect of V-straightening to H-straightening on residual stress. it also disclosed the producing mechanism of the residual stress during the heavy rail straightening process, the study shows that, the residual stress distribution is in multi-S shape after compound straightening, V-straightening has more effect to residual stress, the study has much important reference value for improving rail quality in straightening process and deepening the straightening theory.
