Abstract
A new adaptive infinite impulse response (IIR) filter structure is proposed based on the input balanced realization. It is generated by the four-multiplier lattice structure. Consequently the controllability Grammian matrix becomes an identity matrix and the algorithm inherently guarantees that the adaptive filter will always remain stable. The simulation result shows that this new adaptive IIR filter rapidly converge to the minimum of the error surface.
