Abstract
In this paper we demonstrate for the first time that large diameter (¿ to 1 mm) step index POF can be used for 10 Gbit/s transmission over up to 25 m with very low-cost components and DMT modulation. The use of bend insensitive multi-core POF reduces the bending radius to 2.5 mm without any signal distortion resulting in a very robust installation.
