Abstract :
This paper presents advanced network elements that achieve extremely high capacity and bandwidth flexibility in next-generation photonic networks. Multi-granularity-switching nodes and bit-rate-flexible transponders are discussed with experimental results including 10-Tbit/s-throughput switching and 10-Gbit/s-to-100-Gbit/s bit-rate flexibility.
