  • Abstract
    A fully-etched photonic crystal grating coupler with low back reflections is introduced as an interface between single-mode fibers and silicon-on-insulator wire waveguides. Peak coupling efficiency of 27% and 1-dB bandwidth of 34 nm is achieved.
