Abstract :
PROMETHEUS is in the second year of its project phase. Numerous specific early results have been obtained, which clearly show the potential of achieving new optima of functionality, reliability and costs. A new level of cooperation has been achieved, which will become evident in the up-coming European PROMETHEUS demonstrations of spring 1991. In the process of continuously focusing a broad and yet lean research program, further ambitious goals have been set for 1992 and 1993.
