Abstract :
A monolithic 6-bit flash A/D-converter with a sampling rate of 200 MHz has been developed using high speed master-slave comparators arranged in four blocks and three subsequent encoding stages. The chip was fabricated in a fast bipolar oxide isolated process with 2.5 ¿m emitter stripes and shows excellent performance (no missing codes, high signal-to-noise ratio) at analog frequencies up to the Nyquist rate of 100 MHz.
