Abstract
Noise Shaping Coders when associated with digital filters may become an interesting alternative to switched capacitor circuits for integrated PCM CODECS with filters. As a realistic approach, we propose two processors which have been designed in a 6 pm NMOS technology using a symbolic layout. In order to reduce the total area, distributed arithmetic techniques and a modified two´s complement code have been used to implement the I.I.R. filters.
