Abstract :
This paper reports the development of a LSI switching circuit that is used in a modern digital exchange. Eight of these dual switchport LSI´s - combined in one switching element - perform both space and time switching on 16 PCM lines, 32 channels each. The device contains all the hardware to set up communication paths, send data over these paths, and monitor their status.
