Abstract :
Analog Integrated circuit design, for long overshadowed by digital, is emerging in new areas such as trigonometric function generation, logarithmic amplification and data conversion. The emphasis in the new techniques is on speed and precision in operation, with a premium on wide dynamic range and ultimate accuracy. At the interface between the real World and the digital computer, there will always be a requirement for devices to take a signal from the noise, amplify it, modify it to a meaningful function, and convert it to digital form. This paper will describe some recent work in this diverse and exciting field.
